In 2019, the Dolores Huerta Foundation (DHF) embarked on a mission to establish the Dolores Huerta Peace and Justice Cultural Center (The Center) within Dolores’ lifetime. A California Legislature budget allocation for $15 million and our generous supporters have helped us raise close to $20 million towards our goal of achieving our dream to establsh a place to call home.
The Center will be a multi-use campus and headquarters for the DHF which will draw tourists and revitalize small businesses in the heart of California’s Central Valley. Our hope is that The Center will include a child development center, multicultural community gathering spaces and an organizing institute where DHF will train thousands of activists from around the country with the common goal of building the power and practice of grassroots community organizing.
